Cecilie Steenbuch Traberg, PhD
Assistant Professor of Digitalisation, Copenhagen Business School (CBS)
Cecilie Steenbuch Traberg is a psychologist and cognitive scientist whose work probes the intersections of human cognition, social influence, and digital ecosystems. At the Department of Digitalisation at CBS, she investigates how group dynamics, online environments, and persuasion processes shape beliefs, behaviours, and public trust. Her research focuses particularly on understanding the psychological mechanisms of susceptibility to harmful influence — including misinformation, manipulation, polarisation, and extremism — and on designing interventions to bolster cognitive resilience in the digital age.
With an academic background spanning the University of Cambridge (PhD) and University College London (MSc), Cecilie draws on experimental, computational, and game-based methods to explore how people decide what to believe, why they share what they share, and how systems of influence can be disrupted or protected. She has worked with a range of international partners including NATO’s Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOM COE) and the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing to initiatives that advance information resilience and cognitive security.
