Eskil Grendahl Sivertsen

Eskil Grendahl Sivertsen is a special advisor to the C-SPI project (Cyber-Social Propaganda & Influence), which he helped establish in 2019. Here, he specialises in cognitive warfare and influence operations as part of complex threats, including actors, methods, risks and resilience.

Eskil holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and a master's degree in Strategic Communications from Ithaca College and Cornell University in New York. In addition, he has attended the Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College and military courses in, among other things, information operations (InfoOps) and psychological operations (PSYOPS).


He has worked with strategic communications since 2004 in both civilian and military contexts, including in the technology and communications industry, as a press and information officer, and as a communications advisor to six defence and foreign ministers. He also has extensive experience as a PSYOPS officer from international operations. From the crisis management team in the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has experience in cross-sectoral crisis management and joint exercises. Eskil has several roles in the defence sector, including in the Home Guard and as a supervisor in InfoOps and PSYOPS at the Norwegian Defence University College. He is a frequent speaker, guest lecturer and commentator in the media.
